History

We'll be lifting our arms to the sky in joy and wonder.

He lived at the Foundations of Ishgard ever since he was a child. His mother an aspiring Dragoon just like her own, and his father a very talented apothecary, two affectionate parents that loved him dearly and took the best care that they could despite the little money they possessed. Tristan followed in their footsteps, picking up the lance as soon was able to wield one, as well as carefully listening to his father ramble about various herbs and their medical properties. His memories would be fond of both of them if they weren’t stained and blacked out with pain and hurt. Evariste befell incredibly ill, his health worsening with each passing day. The strength of his being slipped through his fingers like air, and his medicine only held back the inevitable. Them frolicking in the lush green of Coerthas would be the last sweet recollection.Few days after his fourteenth Summer he was robbed of his innocence when he was tasked to retrieve tonics at the apothecarium. It stirred him, confused he wondered in thought what he had done to deserve such punishment, he closed himself off completely. Not long after his father succumbed to the illness, leaving him and his mother hurt and alone. Was Halone testing him? To see how he’d endure such torture, if he was fit to be a strong warrior that would take place by her side at death?Tristan carried on with his life isolated, with only his mother being his source of comfort. He didn’t mind, they got along really well and found closure within themselves. With admiration he observed her bravery, her techniques with the lance and how compassionate she was - there was not a single thing he hadn’t idolized about her.One day, during a harsh winter they ventured to a nearby village by Ishgard. It went as it usually did, one leg there and another back home, but something was off. Their ears were perked up, both alerted but they couldn’t pinpoint what caused them so much unease. Until they heard the roars.

A small pack of Dravanians from Nidhogg’s brood circled around their heads like vultures before diving at them. They both fought to the best of their abilities, their lances clashing against the fang and claws of the dragons - but there were too many to hold them back. Both mangled, Tristan had his mother die in his embrace, before he too succumbed to his wounds. He woke up in an unfamiliar place with an elezen patiently sitting by his side. They exchanged a few words between them each day as Tristan began to recover from his injuries. The moment Tristan was able to get back up on his feet he trained to stay devoted and loyal to the person who managed to save him from death’s clutches. Day by day they grew closer … and closer …Tristan joined the Temple Knights as a humble squire, where he, due to the unfortunes of his body, was often bothered despite his clear discomfort. It didn’t take long before he decided to take things into his own hands and get physical, getting into frequent fights seemed to be the usual as long as he stayed in the barracks.Tristan managed to get knighted rather quickly due to him being highly competent from his previous, rather intense, training he had with his mother. He swore to hunt down the Dragon that had taken her life, and so he searched, until he discovered its cave where they battled fiercely before Tristan managed to get the lucky advantage and plunge his spear into its back, where he forced the beast to carry him all the way back as a mercy for its final flight. There, he finished the Dravanian and earned himself the title and a place among the Knights Dragoon.

Currently

Years later with a freshly acquired Dragoon title and the Dragonsong war at its end, Tristan seems lost. A battle won over Nidhogg does not seem to grant him the satisfaction he thought it would. But even then, he carries on his dying mother's wish, being capable of protecting Ishgard in her name if the Dravanians changed their mind of peace.

Hooks

Even though many summers and winters have passed since he last stepped into the apothecarium, you might remember him joyfully running around his father as a child. he has changed, both physically and emotionally - however his blond curls, miscoloured eyes, freckled and blushed face is indistinctably his.

Apothecarium

The Inquisition

if you're native to ishgard, you might have heard his names in negative association with ishgard's inquisition. words such as "those are the teeth of a dravanian" and "no female has been seven fulms tall" are often said by some of the inquisitors in regards to tristan. these entanglements reach long before he was even breathing - starting with his father and mother, grandmother. twice was he challenged to trial by combat and undergone trial by ordeal once because of one's obsessive loathing.

perhaps you have seen him in the barracks - constantly bruised with knuckles bloodied from the frequent fighting with the other squires, often accompanied by a brunette to calm him down or cleanse his wounds.

OOC

Hello ! Thank you for checking out my Carrd and perhaps being interested in RPing with me ! However, there are a few things I would like to clarify first.

  • i. ; English is not my first language, as I am from Europe - that being said, I apologise for any grammatical errors or wording issues. this also means my timezone is GMT +1. I speak english and slovak.

  • ii. ; i am still fairly new to ffxiv in terms of lore and rp (currently getting through enw patches). my knowledge isnt perfect because of my stupid hyperfixation that lies with ishgard. so if i have any lore mistakes, my bad!

  • iii. ; i suffer from crippling social anxiety, and while i know i am anonymous and behind my keyboard and monitor, even fun things such as rping trigger it. if im taking too long to respond or i'm being a little awkward, please bear with me.

  • iv. ; i am 18+ and i would prefer that you would be too. i am not picky about the age of the writer, however i will draw the line at interacting with people below 16. i am not interested in interacting with minors.

  • v. ; im also an artist, if you'd like to check out my work, you can find links to my twitter down below ! ♥ (no minors please)

About me

About Tristan and RP

  • i. ; i am strictly IC OOC. tristan is not a pleasant character to deal with, he is not an asshole, however he dislikes majority of people for one reason or another. he might be quick to brush your character away. his bite is harsher than the bark. his views do not reflect mine.

  • ii. ; because i have not rped much, i don't feel comfortable rping certain genres yet (mostly combat rp), especially if we do not know each other. however things such as slice of life, adventure and other casual stuff are a-okay (dark themes are also fine).

  • iii. ; in terms of romance, tristan is currently taken, and i am not looking for romance rp with any of my other characters with people outside my friend circle. i do not erp.
